Since July 2000, the Foundation has provided more than $300,000 in scholarship funding to graduating high school students. The Foundation also provides financial support for community activities such as Thanksgiving and Christmas food donations for needy families, Capital Diaper Drive, Back to School supplies, and the annual Richmond area Talent Hunt program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2026 Richmond Area Chapters Talent Hunt Ronald Bell, Chairman <\/h3>\n\n\n\n
The Richmond area Chapters of Omega Psi Fraternity Inc. sponsor the Annual Talent Hunt Program at 31St. Street Baptist Church. The Talent Hunt Program encourages Richmond area high school youth to display their talents in the areas of music, art and oratorical talents. The participants are evaluated by judges and winners are eligible to compete for additional awards at our District and International Conclave events. The Graduate Chapters of Phi Phi and Upsilon Nu, as well as the Undergraduate Chapters of Zeta (Virginia Union Univ.) and Phi Delta (Virginia Commonwealth Univ.) coordinate the yearly event. For 2026 the winners included Christopher Smith (middle 1st) Jakayla Parker (left 2nd) Zah-Nae Tyce (right 3rd)<\/p>\n\n\n

The Upsilon Nu Scholarship and Social Action Foundation partners with community organizations to provide funding and volunteer support to distribute Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets to needy Richmond area families. Each year, volunteers distribute the food baskets at the City of Richmond Department of Social Services at 4100 Hull Street Rd. Richmond, Virginia. In 2025, a total of 674 families (4,044) individuals were served. Community partners for both events included the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
